(Sick) Little Naked Savages

My kids have decided they have evolved beyond clothes. After the tenth time they stripped off, I gave up. Outside the skies are grey and rain falls steadily. My beloved and I are rugged up in thermals, jumpers, scarves and coats and this is inside. Not far from us snow blankets the mountains. Our wee ones are happy to chase each other around without an item of clothing between them.
Naked and squealing with giggles they run through the house making nests out of the cushions on the couch, climbing the curtains and dancing on the kitchen table. My Beloved and I hold our heads and wearily watch. I'm at the tail end of the flu and my beloved has gastro. We feared our Poppet might be veering into illness, but after one evening of puking* she returned to her cheerful, bossy self. ABC 4 Kids and takeaway pizza are our friends. We promise ourselves that soon, very soon we will actually clear some pathways through the debris. But for now my beloved heads for the toilet (again) & I head for the panadol.
We debate whether our little ones need feathery wings or little horns to complete the picture. I think they need wings. They definitely look like little angels, all melting (if mischievous) smiles and big eyes. But we might swap the halos for little horns. On second thoughts, considering what they could get up to with wings... maybe they just need some fur?

*It is my beloved's week on washing. This makes me happy.

Update - Our little Sprocket has come down with The Bug. After covering the living room with vomit he is now ridiculously wan with great smudges of dark under his closed eyes. He's gone to bed with my Beloved, and is waking only to throw up. We are watching anxiously for signs of dehydration. Our poor little man. Now I am wishing he was up to swinging on the curtains.

  2. Ohhh, sick little ones are such a sad sight. I hope everyone is well again soon and the littlies are back to running amok (preferably not in the nude in the so very cold)!

    1. It was horrible when the little ones were so sick! Luckily they bounced back very quickly - and are right back to their table-dancing ways. Luckily they're all clothed at present but I'm sure they'll return to the norm soon. Caleb just doesn't seem to feel the cold! (Which is a good thing down here!)
