"A portrait of my children once a week, every week in 2014"

Sprocket - beach-combing. Searching for crabs and fish. A ridiculously hot day - you can see the heat and smoke haze -  and we shouldn't be out in the sun, but when the alternative is staying at home in the the stultefying heat, lumbering between the fan and cool baths… the beach won out. (And it was divine!)

Poppet - heading down the path to the beach. Her 'treasures' or 'sweethearts' (various dolls and stuffed toys) are packed in the bag under her arm.

  1. I can feel the heat in these shots, I especially like the one of Poppet on the path, I want to see the beach just around the corner!

    1. She's not going many places without her 'treasures' now. At the moment her bag is packed for a trip to her Nana and grandpas in two days time - all the most important teddies and dolls come with her everywhere in preparation!

  3. so jealous! we are under 2 feet of snow and negative 30s. Although I guess fires are no fun either! But the beach…oh, the beach. Love the images.

    1. Do send some snow this way - I'd happily do a swap! Although the beach is lovely!
