From a Distance

Recently, I've started taking lots of close ups. Of beetles, spiders, grasses. I love to glory in the small things, but every so often it's good to step back and look around.

We live surrounded by countryside - now, I'm not sure if I could return to the city. I'm used to space around me. To miles of gold and hills. To roads with little traffic and stars that are bright.

On every walk there are things of interest - wallabies, galahs, little wrens, fields spun with spiders webs, cows blocking the path, butterflies and praying mantis.

I have become used to a world of spacious gold.

I like to remember how lucky I am.
